In ensuring that government projects are delivered on time, Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has put government contractors on notice.

Sayed-Khaiyum says contractors should adhere to the deadline and guidelines to complete a project in a timely manner.

He says contractors who are not delivering up to expectations will be taken to task.

“We are coming down hard on contractors who don’t pay their workers or the companies who are sub-contractors, if it’s found that you are not paying workers who are hired to work and if your actions are non-compliance than you will be blacklisted by government.”

The Ministry of Economy will closely monitor every ministry to ensure that community projects are delivered on time.
