The government continues to support the operation of the culture and art sector.

He says this is a clear testament that art and culture remains a priority in this modern era.

Cavuilagi highlighted that the council is planning to establish a new national gallery with financial support from government.

“And they have designated this old Suva Grammar School. St. Steven’s Building as Fiji’s national gallery which is coming up. But this building where arts council is at the moment is also being supported by government in terms of giving us the grant.”

He adds that this continuous partnership has strengthened Fiji’s cultural presence in the international arena through festival of arts and international art exhibition.
The council hopes to expand its operation in the future.
