Government committed to investment: PM

The government is committed to positioning Fiji as a destination for foreign investment says Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

Granting the mining lease to Australian based company Amex Resources Limited, the PM says Fiji has created an environment that has encouraged such partnerships.

He says great interest has been shown by more Chinese business to invest in Fiji.

“We will soon have Chinese investment in food processing, housing, power generation and textile industry. As we welcome an expanded and dynamic range of opportunities for foreign investment on our shores, my government will work to ensure demonstrated stability, integrity, transparency and accountability in all stages and all aspects of this work.”

Bainimarama adds a number of strong of partners are based in the Asia Pacific Region and they have invested heavily in Fiji.
