‘’From the outset the government acknowledges that Fiji’s problems are complex. Income inequality is one of the issues of note considering that the 20% of Fijians receive only 6 per cent of the national income while the richest 20 percent received 40 per cent of the national income’’.

Seruiratu told the meeting that in order to arrest these problems, efforts have been employed to accelerate development to bring some sense of balance to all Fijians.
