Good response received during tsunami drill: NDMO

The National Disaster Management Office has applauded seven agencies along the Queen Elizabeth Drive in Nasese, Suva for responding well to the Tsunami Drill that was conducted on Tuesday.

981 officers from the seven agencies participated in the drill exercise as part of preparedness on Tsunami.

NDMO’s Emergency Planning Coordinator Mitieli Ratinaisiwa says some officers from the seven agencies didn’t take part in the drill as they had to carry out other duties.

While responding to the exercise, the Tsunami Empires from the seven agencies have also made recommendations to the NDMO on the other possible route that they can go through during a Tsunami and other evacuation plans that they need to have.

The NDMO acknowledged and thanked all the agencies who participated in the drill as well as the different stakeholders for assisting in the exercise.
