Gold and Zinc Mining will start soon at Wainivesi in Tailevu.

Mining Assistant Director Venasio Nasara says the new mine site will be smaller than Vatukoula.

He says gold will be mined first then they will move to copper.

“The mining and processing will be done on site and the minerals they are going to produce or mined are gold and zinc .”

He says Wainivesi Mine is funded by private shareholder and they use second hand machine.
