Glad to give back to my country says Vuniwaqa

Fiji-born Royal Australian Naval Officer, Able Seaman Koloba Vuniwaqa says it’s been a rewarding experience helping out Fijians in TC Yasa ravaged areas.
Fiji-born Australian Naval Officer, Able Seaman Koloba Vuniwaqa says it’s a rewarding experience helping out Fijians in TC Yasa ravaged areas.
AB Vuniwaqa is originally from Nabureni in Levuka, Ovalau moved to Australia in 2009 before joining the Australian Navy in 2017.
He says relationships between Australia and Fiji have grown over the years and is a testament of our ‘vuvale partnership.
He is calling on Fijians in affected areas to remain strong and continue to showcase resilience that Fijians are renowned for.
“To help out our fellow countrymen when the call came out I was so happy to be part of this assessed after Tropical Cyclone Yasa.”
He says this is his first humanitarian assistance and disaster relief assistance within the South-West Pacific region.
