Give equal opportunities to all: EVR clerks told

July 2, 2012 1:00 am

Fijians intending to register for the 2014 elections must be given equal treatment despite their ethnicity, background or any disabilities.

Registration clerks have been warned that those who do not adhere to this will be taken out of the teams.

Electronic Voter Registration (EVR) western coordinator Parayame Cakacaka told the clerks that their actions will be guided by a Code of Conduct that emphasises the need for discipline and to abide by the law.

They have also been told to ensure that people with physical disabilities are given the attention required to be properly registered.

The training for voter registration clerks continues today at different centres around the country.

Registration is expected to start from tomorrow.
