FWCC conducts regional training program

Fiji Women Crisis Centre is hosting a regional training program and is in the second week of training which is aimed at addressing issues of violence against women.

The program is being attended by representatives from around the Pacific Region who are working towards ending violence against women which includes lawyers

FWCC coordinator Shamima Ali says the training is also for regional police officers to develop better responses towards reports of violence against women and girls

“Program is four weeks long whereby, most of the training is conducted by FWCC trainers and also some trainers from the region, Vanuatu and Tonga who have a lot of experience in the work on eliminating violence against women.We will also have lawyers conducting the legal literacy program and alot of resources are coming from the crisis centre."

Upon completion of the training program, the representatives will receive certificates and will be able to better understand and deal with violence against women.
