The second phase of the Lagilagi Housing Project in Jittu, Raiwaqa in Suva has been put on hold.

Permanent Secretary for Housing Joshua Wycliffe says the allocation needed to complete the project which was $800,000 was given to the People’s Community Network, however, the PCN has denied receiving it.

Wycliffe says the Ministry paid the full grant amount agreed to by the People’s Community Network for Lagilagi Housing Project as per a cabinet decision.

PCN National Director Semiti Qalowasa says more than 120 families have withdrawn their applications for housing units because of the project’s escalating delays.

FBC News understands 76 lots are included in the second phase.

40 homes have so far been completed and are ready to be occupied while 36 more homes are being planned.
