The Ministry for Education has handed over $30,000 to help fund a much needed upgrade for a school in Kadavu.
Teachers of Nabukelevu District School in Kadavu say the lack of resources and facilities has proved to be the biggest challenge.
During his visit to the school, Education Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy saw the need for an upgrade.
A teacher at the school, Saraseini Baleiloaloa, says during strong winds and heavy rain, the students get wet as there is no shelter.
Baleiloaloa says there is also a need for more teachers at the school.
There are 115 students and six teachers who teach two classes in one session.
