The Fiji Trades Union Congress will submit another permit application to march in Suva on the 7th of April.

This is after their first application was rejected by police yesterday.

FTUC’s General Secretary, Felix Anthony believes that this march will be much bigger than the one that was held in Nadi last month.

“That gives government plenty time to breath to reconsider their actions and to do the right thing and we certainly hope that this time around they will not be messing around with our application that the approval should be given in good times so that the workers of this country, their families and the citizens who support the cause of workers in this country are prepared to take the streets and march and show this government their dissatisfaction.”

Anthony says they will persist with their permit application until it’s approved.

He adds that they will also look at staging a march in the Northern Division.
