The Fiji Sugar Corporation has welcomed rain in all cane belt areas.

Corporation Executive ChairAbdul Khan told FBC News that although some of the areas did not get enough rain, they are happy to see the change in weather which augurs well for farmers and the industry as a whole.

Khan says the amount of rain over the last few days hasn’t been enough to ease the problems caused by the dry spell, but it will help the ratoon cane to pick up for the next crushing season.

The Executive Chair is hopeful that rain will continue in the coming weeks and months to ensure a good season in 2016.
