The Fiji Sugar Corporation is negotiating a sale of up to three shipments of sugar to buyers in Asia and East Asia.

FBC News understands each shipment will contain 30,000 tonnes from the 2018 sugar crop.

FSC Chief Operation Officer Navin Chandra says one shipment has been confirmed for a Chinese buyer.

The sale to China will conclude by early next month for shipment in September.

Negotiations are still in progress regarding the remaining two shipments.

This is expected to be done in early 2019.

The last time FSC sold sugar to a Chinese buyer was in 2003.
