The Fiji Sugar Corporation has refuted comments made last week by the National Federation Party that issued a statement saying the FSC is lying to the growers.

NFP Party Leader, Professor Biman Prasad says FSC has been deceitful in announcing that the Lautoka Mill is on a scheduled stop when the reality was that it had broken down.

FSC’s Head of Strategic Communications, Elenoa Korovulavula told FBC News that during the course of this crushing season, they have released mill production facts and figures on a weekly basis, updating the industry and the general public at large.

And in the event of mill stoppages, Korovulavula says they have always been proactive in remedying the problem while providing progressive updates.

She added as custom, the FSC didn’t respond to third party comments such as the NFP.
