The Fiji Sugar Corporation has produced more than 153,000 tonnes of sugar so far this crushing season.

FSC Executive Chair Abdul Khan told FBC news that until yesterday morning a little over 1.5million tonnes of cane was crushed with an average TCTS of 9.8.

Khan says the Corporation is expecting to produce just under 156,000 tonnes of sugar when the Rarawai Sugar Mill in Ba ends its season on Sunday.

The three other sugar mills have closed for the year.
