FSC looks at expand sales market for Fiji's raw sugar

July 9, 2017 5:47 pm

The Fiji Sugar Corporation will not export and sell its raw sugar to overseas sugar buyers just for the sake of selling its raw sugar.

The Corporation Chief Operating Officer-Navin Chandra told FBC News that the FSC Chief Executive Officer-Graham Clark has already said that the hunt for a better price will continue.

Chandra says all the sugar producing countries are now moving towards open market as the quota system is to come to an end in September this year.

He adds that there are other buyers overseas who have already shown interest in Fiji’s sugar.

The aim, Chandra says is to ensure cane farmers get a fair deal for their cane crop.
