The Fiji Sugar Corporation continues to work to bring in change and progress to the sugar industry.

FSC Board Member and Tui Macuata Ratu Wiliame Katonivere says cane development is the core business in FSC’s five year strategic plan and they are working on this.

To help farmers in land preparation and cane planting, the Fiji Sugar Corporation has purchased 35 band new tractors and farming implements.

Ratu Wiliame says this is a clear example of putting the strategy into action.

FSC has also purchased 20 water tanks to stand by for farmers so they can irrigate their crops in cases of severe dry spells.

For the first time in Fiji, 60 mechanical harvesters will be operating this season.
