The Fiji Sugar Corporation is urging farmers to follow the right procedures to obtain a grant under the Cane Development Program.

Chief Operating Officer, Navin Chandra says farmers who want to use this initiative to plant new cane must register with the FSC field officers first.

Chandra says following this the field officers will give a notification to the FSC management.

He says some farmers have already planted cane on their own and are now applying for grants.

He assured the farmers that FSC will not delay the payments under the Cane Development Program.

Chandra is urging farmers facing problems in obtaining the grant to contact the FSC Headquarters in Lautoka or their field officers.
