The Fiji Sugar Corporation has announced an increase in the cane delivery payment.

The announcement was made by the FSC Chief Executive Officer Graham Clark at the Labasa Mill yesterday.

Clark says along with the Sugar Industry Tribunal and the Sugar Cane Growers Council they have been trying to see if they can improve the low delivery price.

He says they have been able to gain a concession.

The new cane delivery payment will now be $37.90, an increase from the existing $32.20

“That’s a good example of how we understand the challenges of what’s going on in the industry and we work together to find a solution. And, I am very pleased we have been able to do that.”

The cane delivery payment is the payment made upon the delivery of cane to the mill.
