Freesoul Real Estate Development Limited ordered to rectify breaches

The Freesoul Real Estate Development Limited has been ordered to rectify the breaches identified by the Environment Ministry.

Environment Minister Dr Mahendra Reddy confirms that the environmental impact assessment which was approved has been cancelled.

Dr Reddy says out of the 55 conditions, the company has breached 20 conditions.

He adds that the Ministry has taken a number of actions in relation to the company.

Minister says that on 1st June last year, the Director Environment had issued a prohibition notice to them from undertaking any foreshore and construction related activities.

Dr Reddy says the company was further instructed to immediately rehabilitate the development they took at the foreshore.

 

Following the examination and gathering of information we than ask them to immediately to stop work. The environmental impact assessment that was approved has been cancelled and now they are in the process of, they now have to ensure that those breaches are rectified

The Minister stresses they have their own processes to follow.
