Good news for people living in Sigatoka as they can now enjoy free internet following the launch of the free public Wi-Fi hot spot at Sigatoka Riverside today.
Acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says the launch of the free Wi-Fi hot spot will encourage more people to use the internet.
He says the free Wi-Fi hot spot has also being set strategically.
“But we also want to provide what we call safe spaces for people to be able to congregate and meet up to use the internet services and also interact with each other.”
Sayed-Khaiyum adds that the Wi-Fi hot spots have also been launched in other parts of the country.
$40m has been allocated in the 2018/2019 budget to the ICT sector for these initiatives.
