“These free WIFI spots which Walesi is implementing on behalf of the government’s digital strategy – it’s here to empower the people, it’s here to benefit the people. The people of Labasa will now be able to gain the same benefits as the other places where we have already launched free Wi-Fi for 60 minutes.”

Khan says Fiji is the first country in the Pacific to introduce free public Wi-Fi.

He says Walesi under the Digital Fiji initiative has been given funding to install free high speed Wi-Fi spots around the country.
