The government’s Free Medicine programme will be launched by the Assistant Health Minister, Veena Bhatnagar at the Super Drug Pharmacy in Suva this morning.
The programme allows eligible people to access price controlled medicines that have been prescribed by a licensed medical practitioner free of charge from any government pharmacy or selected private pharmacies.
One of the requirements is that the applicant earns less than $20,000 annually.
The government allocated $8 million for the initiative.
