FRCS upskills youths who indulge in social work

The Fiji Red Cross Society coordinates youth development activities with an aim to enhance the skills of youths who are involve in social work.

Fiji Red Cross Society Director General Filipe Nainoca says the Society recognizes that young people comprise a significant proportion of the population.

Nainoca says they have approximately 700 volunteers Fiji wide amongst these volunteers 550-650 volunteers are active and 80% volunteers are youths.

“Young people are connected , young people have different priorities different from when we were young and it need young people talking to young people developing programs for young people.”

Meanwhile, Nainoca says including younger generation in developmental planning and activities will enhance a stronger social structure and resilience of communities.
