The Fiji Red Cross Society today launched its Annual National Appeal with a target of $30,000.
Director General Filipe Nainoca says their volunteers from all sixteen districts around Fiji will be shaking cans in towns and cities throughout this month in an effort to raise money for those affected by natural disasters.
Nainoca says four hundred tins have been distributed to all their officers which have also been carefully numbered.
He says this is to assist the organization in helping the vulnerable and providing immediate relief in times of emergency and disasters.
“ Individual branches get an allocation of tins so they will be requesting businesses to keep tins n their premises and also out on the streets being visible.
The Fiji Red Cross have been on the streets since last Saturday and will continue collecting donations till the 29th.
