October 20, 2015 3:06 am

The Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority is going to clamp down on businesses who fail to declare millions of dollars sitting in bank accounts.

Less than a month away from the 2016 budget, FRCA Chief Executive Jitoko TIkolevu has revealed that they are now going after businesses which treat taxes as a matter of choice.

Tikolevu says items such as alcohol spirits that is taxed on volume rather than value are incorrectly being classified as wine to defraud the government of duty taxes.
