FRA urges motorists to be more considerate

January 24, 2018 5:10 am

The Fiji Roads Authority are concerned that some motorists are reckless with their driving particularly in areas where roadworks are being carried out, putting FRA employees at risk.

CEO for the Authority Jonathan Moore says they will not tolerate such behaviour.

“Some of the drivers around the place are not considerate on the roads, there’s unfortunately a few that seem to think the roads are a race track and I’ve got guys working a metre from the vehicles and that bothers me enormously. If I find that drivers are being reckless or stupid on the roads where my guys are working, I’ll stop the work.”

Moore says this has being an on-going challenges for them and can lead to the delay of projects because of a few inconsiderate people.

He adds, the FRA have also being challenged with the limited staffing with plans underway for a massive recruitment.
