FRA to upgrade 28 roads in Suva

November 6, 2017 11:12 pm

The Fiji Roads Authority has identified more than twenty roads in the greater Suva area that need upgrading for the next few months.

Chief Executive, Jonathan Moore says this is part of their Suva rehabilitation scheme and plans are already in the pipeline to provide alternative routes.

“Amy Street is one of the target roads, however, there are more inner roads near Victoria Parade up to Princess Road which need rehabilitation. The idea is to make the traffic management as efficient as possible so people aren’t affected while travelling to work or schools. The rehabilitation process may involve closing the entire road for some instants, I know this might sound dramatic and serious but in Suva there’s lots of alternative roads the public can use.”

Moore says these roads are in poor conditions and need to undergo major rehabilitation works.
