The Fiji Roads Authority and its contractors have held discussions about Occupational Health and Safety and other employee-related matters.

FRA Capital Works Manager Ian Hunter says they have found some contractors allegedly breaching regulations.

“We wanted to be sure that all contractors are completely sure about their obligations under those laws and ensure we didn’t get repeats of these incidents.”

FRA says penalties will apply for employers who breach employment regulations.

There are several companies contracted to carry out road works for the Authority.
