The Fiji Roads Authority is making progress on all its major projects in Viti Levu.

Programmes manager Zaina Khan says contractors have struggled with bad weather in the Suva Nausori road upgrades.

Another hiccup has been securing land in some instances as well as factoring in the various utilities such as water and electricity.

Khan adds the scale of work that’s currently underway would normally take a decade, however the FRA is looking to complete it all in 5 years.

She also says that throughout the upgrades and widening projects, the Authority has ensured that traffic flow has minimal impact.

The Nadi road works are also on track with the FRA now working on a comprehensive plan which caters for long term sustainability for major water lines, underground power and telecommunications cables.
