FRA adapts new method to fix potholes

October 11, 2018 4:28 am

The Fiji Roads Authority has adopted a new method in fixing pot holes around the country.

Concerns have often been raised that despite several works being carried out, potholes often open up on the same road stretch after a heavy rain fall.

FRA Chief Executive, Jonathan Moore, says proper work is needed to stop the recurrence of potholes on the road.

Moore says changes have been made to their policy in dealing with the potholes.

”So what we doing now is instead of that old policy where we get multiple potholes appearing in the same location we will change the carriageway but we now allow remix and resurface it, that’s the only way to do it. Even contractors know you can’t put potholes on potholes but they had no choice in the past we have change those policies to not do it anymore.”-

The FRA has been allocated a total of $563.1 million in the 2018/2019 national budget to repair the road networks.
