Small boat operators have been urged to always be on alert and keep clear of the main navigational channel.

The call is being made by the Suva Harbour Master’s Office in its continuous quest to avoid any casualty within our waters.

Acting Chief Operating Officer and Suva Harbour Master Captain Laisiasa Gonewai says it is important for vessel owners especially small boat operators to keep well clear of a ship’s path and make sure they can see and be seen at all times.

He is urging operators to assist them in keeping navigation in the channels in Suva’s port safe for all vessels.
