Police are investigating a possible issue of negligence following the death of a 4-year-old boy at an Estate in Tukavesi in, Cakaudrove in the Northern division.

The incident reportedly occurred on Monday morning, whereby the deceased was found floating in a river about 100 meters away from his home.

The victim was last seen playing with another child close to where his grandfather was carrying out some construction work on their home.

He was later discovered floating in a river nearby.

The current death toll by drowning is now 12 compared to 22 for the same period last year.
