The National Fire Authority will soon commission two new fire stations.

Chief Executive, Manasa Lesuma says these new stations will be in Rakiraki and Nabouwalu.

In addition, the Lami and Nakasi stations are expected to be completed later this year.

Lesuma says this is in line with the aim to enhance their services.

“We’ve been mandated by government to continue to improve our response time to any emergencies so that means continue to expand our presence in areas that we are not in at the moment so that’s something that is currently work in progress for us.”

NFA currently has 18 fire stations.
