Four men are currently being questioned by Police in relation to the death of a fifty-seven-year-old man in Ellington, Kings Road on Friday evening.

It is alleged the four who were heavily intoxicated allegedly assaulted the men who was on his way to his village with his ten-year-old son.

The suspects had stopped the victim’s vehicle, pulled him out and allegedly assaulted him.

As a result the man fell on the ground and got injured.

He was taken to the Rakiraki hospital by a passing vehicle but was pronounced dead on arrival.

Investigation continues.
