Four men charged with the sexual assault of escapee Iowane Benedito in 2012 have been granted bail today.

The four, Sanita Laqenasici, (Police Officer), Jona Davonu, (Police Officer), and Semesi Naduka, (Police Officer) and Filimone Catimaibulu, (Soldier) are granted bail with a sum of $2000 each with two sureties.

Magistrates Charles Ratakale says all have to surrender their travel documents; sign at the nearest police station from 7am-8pm and are on curfew daily from 9pm to 6am.

The four appeared at Nasinu Magistrates’ Court this afternoon charged with sexual assault.

All four have opted to be tried in the Magistrates’ Court.

The case will be called again for mention on December 2.
