Founder and coordinator of the Act It Network Elisha Bano will be one of the two Fijians attending the Youth Climate Summit at the UN Headquarters in New York.
The Act It Network is artivism, a combination of art and advocacy group that empowers young people to address social issues in their community using creative arts.
United Nations resident coordinator Sanaka Samarasinha yesterday highlighted that they hope to help Pacific Island countries further amplify their fight on climate change on a global scale.
Bano plans to work with other Pacific youth to discuss their experience with their projects and relay that at the summit as collective representation.
The summit will feature five people from the Pacific region.
The Youth UN Climate Summit will be held from the 21st to the 23rd of September.
