The Sai Prema Foundation will be opening a cardiac screening centre in April.

Medical Coordinator, Dr Krupali Tappoo says the centre will be situated within the Sri Sathya Sanjeevani Medical Centre in Nasese, Suva.

Dr Tappoo says the centre will have its own resources to cater for children with heart problems.

“We will have our own echo machine and we will have some doctors coming here and screening children. It is part of our ongoing project and will be called “Project Heart Beat” where we are doing heart screenings for children.”

The Foundation under its ‘Gift of Life’ project has successfully supported 54 children who underwent heart surgeries in the last two years.
