Former Ministry of Agriculture employee charged

A former Technical Officer from the Ministry of Agriculture appeared in the Nausori Magistrates Court yesterday facing corruption-related charges.

Siliva Senivasa has been charged by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption with one count of General Dishonesty by obtaining a gain in 2015.

She is alleged to have received $450 from an individual as payment for land preparation under the Land Preparation Facility Program and kept it for herself.

FICAC state counsel Josanne Pene informed the court that first phase disclosures have been served and the prosecution is not objecting to bail.

The accused has been released with a bail bond of $500.

The matter has been adjourned to February 17th, 2020 for plea.
