Former Met Director to be laid to rest today

Former Fiji Meteorological Services Director, Ravin Kumar will be laid to rest today at the Wailoaloa cemetery in Nadi.

The Permanent Secretary for National Disaster Management and Meteorological Service, Meleti Bainimarama says Kumar was a team player and played an integral part in Fiji’s COP23 presidency.

Bainimarama says Kumar was supposed to go to Poland with Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama in two weeks’ time.

” When I received the news on Sunday afternoon I called commissioner western and the western team has been there with family and also with the meteorological staff and are looking after the arrangements.”

Meanwhile, 53-year-old Kumar passed away on Sunday at the Nadi Hospital after a short illness.
