Former acting Field Statistician pleads guilty to charges

A former acting Field Statistician of the Fiji Bureau of Statistics pleaded guilty to her charges in the Suva Magistrates court today.

Kelera Nokelevu is charged by FICAC with one count of obtaining a financial advantage and one count of using forged documents.

Nokelevu falsified a receipt worth one thousand five hundred and eighty-eight dollars in November 2015 and she was able to commit the act because she was responsible for giving out allowance to officers.

Nokelevu waived her right to counsel and informed the court that she was remorseful and regretful.

Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili adjourned the matter to December 3rd for the summary of facts and sentencing.
