Special Administrator, Chandu Umaria says, despite several hiccups, development works at the prominent hangout are nearly complete.

“But we are one year behind and this is due to lots of reasons – one is the weather in Suva – we cannot do the landfill in wet weather, the other thing is we could not get the supply of rocks to do the seawall – but I am very happy to say the seawall projects which is one of the major projects for SCC this year and we have been praised by everyone that is using this walkway – this project will complete.”

The Council has spent around $18-million on the project.
