Force wants part on the drafting of laws

Police Commissioner Brigadier General – Ioane Naivalurua believes the Force has to play a more active role in drafting new laws in the country.

Naivalurua says to do that they will need to work closely with various arms of the government.

He says while the government’s intention is clear when introducing new laws, the partnership and cooperation of the force to the various government ministries is critical.

This he adds is vital to the implementation of the new laws, once passed by cabinet.

Naivalurua says while members of the force need education on the implementation of such laws, being involved in its creation will enable them to play a more active and effective role in enforcing them.
