Footpath upgrades neglected over the years

December 13, 2016 11:30 pm

The Fiji Roads Authority has failed to upgrade footpaths throughout Fiji in the previous years.

This was confirmed by the Fiji Roads Authority Chief Executive Officer, John Hutchinson.

“Foot paths are quite frankly a serious concern to the authority and that’s something that we have neglected over many years and we need to upgrade this to provide basic service to the community. So far we’ve upgraded footpaths in Suva, Raiwaqa, Nabua, Raiwai, Nausori, Nasinu, Lami, Sigatoka, Lautoka and Ba.”

Hutchinson says further work is planned in other areas accompanied by street light upgrades.

He adds FRA are now changing their priorities and focusing more in providing good service to all Fijians.
