Fiji is now getting more famous for its cuisine than ever.

This is due to the number of talented chefs working in resorts, hotels and restaurant says World Chefs Continental Director Pacific Rim, Neil Abrahams.

Abrahams who is currently part of the National Salon Culinaire Competition held at the FNU Namaka Campus believes that Fiji chefs are on par with international chefs.

“ I really think it’s time that Fiji and even the Government focused on the cuisine and with the Chefs Association they are really the ones pushing those standards and boundaries of food and with that little bit of support Fiji could not only be a resort destination but a food destination.”

With the competition running for a few days now, Abrahams has been amazed with the work and effort put in by local chefs.

He adds that Fiji’s local chefs could become a strong point of sale for the country’s tourism industry.
