Food rations airlifted to Taveuni

The first lot of food ration supply has been airlifted to Taveuni this morning.

The French Air Force Squadron 52 aircraft carried the emergency supply in two lifts.

The supply includes bags of 45kg rice, 50 kg flour, 25kg split peas, 50kg sugar and cartons of tin fish, powdered milk and cooking oil.

This is a month’s supply of food ration for five evacuation centers in Wairiki and Soqulu.

Food ration for the other 33 evacuation centers will be delivered progressively in the coming days.
