There was much hype about a healthy Hibiscus this year.

Organisers chose the theme ‘Snap out of it…Take control of Your Life’, but as we found out, there is little at the Festival that can be counted as healthy.

Now the Suva City Council has issued a directive to all stall holders to lift their game.

Acting CEO Bijay Chand has confirmed that the major problem is food being exposed to contamination.

All food operators have been told to ensure that food is properly covered.

The SCC adds that it’s not encouraging to see the QUALITY of food and operators seemed more concerned with their profit margin than the health of consumers.

Chand says this will need more awareness.
