February 17, 2016 12:49 am

Fiji National University Chancellor Ikbal Jannif says the University will outsource its security services in three months.

He says the current pool of security personnel will be let go.

‘’FNU has decided that it will outsource all security services. The matter of outsourcing has been in the agenda for some time and the final decision was made earlier this year. Now this has meant that all persons involved with providing security to FNU have now been asked or have been advised that the work is been outsourced and they will no longer have a job’’.

Jannif said 28 permanent security staff were given notices last week and will be paid according to the FNU Redundancy Policy.

Nearly 200 security personnel are expected to be affected by the change.
