FNU students raise issues regarding qualified lecturers

Students of the Fiji National University raised various issues with Economy Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum during the 2018/2019 budget roadshow in Suva this morning.

One of these issues included the lack of qualified lecturers at the university.

A student told the Minister that many students miss their lessons due to the unavailability of lecturers.

The minister was also informed students in some departments are behind in their units.

Sayed-Khaiyum says they’ve allocated a huge amount of money to the Education Ministry in the new budget, with over a billion dollars.

He said they have also increased the funding to FNU, hence, this will help address the issues raised.
